Rift Vision

Privacy Policy

Effective 30 September 2026. Rift Vision is made by Pocket Forge LLC. This policy explains what the app stores, what it sends, and what it never does.

What stays on your device

Your collection, scan history, decks and settings are stored in a database on your phone. Videos you record are saved to your phone’s gallery. None of this is uploaded by the app.

Card recognition runs entirely on your phone. Camera frames are analysed on the device and are not sent anywhere.

What the app fetches

  • Card prices, once a day, from a third-party price service. The request carries no personal information beyond your IP address, which any web request includes.
  • Card images for a few printings that are not bundled with the app, from Riot Games’ image servers, when you view them.

Signing in

Signing in with Google is optional. When you do, the app asks Google for your name, email address and avatar, and stores them on your device so the app can show who is signed in. The app does not read anything else from your account.

The app keeps a Google token in your phone’s secure keystore for two purposes: writing and reading your backup in Google Drive, and, on Android, recording when you started the Pro free trial (both below). Signing out removes the profile and the token.

Backups

You can back up your openings, trades, decks and settings to a file you keep, or, when signed in with Google, to a private app folder in your own Google Drive that only this app can see (Google’s “application data” folder). Drive backups happen only when you tap Back up, or when you switch on daily backup or backup after every scan, and only to your Drive: the developer has no server and never receives your data. You can delete the folder from Google Drive’s settings at any time.

Purchases and the free trial

Rift Vision Pro is bought through Google Play or the App Store. The store handles the payment; the app never sees your card or payment details, and only asks the store whether Pro was bought on your account.

On Android, starting the 5-day free trial asks you to sign in with Google, and the date you started it is saved as a small file in the same private Drive app folder, so the trial can be used once per account. On iPhone the trial is a free in-app purchase recorded by the App Store. The trial date is also included in your backups.

What the app never does

  • No analytics, tracking or advertising SDKs.
  • No selling or sharing of personal data.
  • No account is needed to use the app. A Google sign-in is only asked for Drive backup and, on Android, to start the free trial.

Deleting your data

In the app, Settings → Account → Delete account and data deletes your backup from Google Drive, removes the app’s access to your Google account and signs you out, and can also erase everything on this phone.

Uninstalling the app also deletes its database and settings. Recorded videos remain in your gallery until you delete them.
